Isha's 6th Birthday !

Isha's 6th birthday party was boogie bugs themed party, it was a hit and everyone loved it and had a lovely time. I made heart shaped jam sandwiches, flower shaped cheese sandwiches and egg mayo sandwiches, fruit kebabs and corn which were very yummy (everyone said) and enjoyed by all. 

The fruit kebabs was caterpillar made with grapes  to go with the bug theme, lady bird colours with strawberry/ black grapes and honey bees represented with pineapples/ grapes and loads of colourful fruit kebabs.

All the British parents loved the samosas.. which is a big favourite with the locals here. Ordered pizzas as well to add to the above food.  I could go on about it but then it was like a mini project for me and so sharing here ;)

First visit to Marine drive !

Marine drive is a beautiful place and I remember i must visit there as a newly married young girl, my impression of Mumbai was that which the Hindi cinema gives you - about 11 plus years ago coming from Hyderabad my idea of Mumbai was a place where one needs to be careful of their belongings/ purses as some one might snatch and run away. Marine drive for me was the place where all the smuggling / drugs came in the night at least that is what I thought and learned from the hindi movies ! I know it seems  ridiculous and naive of me to think that way but that is what all Hindi movies showed happened when someone landed in Mumbai ! My hubby and his friends laughed and pulled my leg about it for many years. I realised in the time I was in Mumbai it was much safer and there was dignity of labour ! Everyone wanted to work and was busy doing something and respected and minded their own business.
