Saturday :
The kids were very happy to receive their Valentine's gift and played with them. I had bought a Chess board as a gift for my hubby dear which was not accepted that well because of its build and size...that was a bit disappointing.
As planned went and watched the movie "My name is Khan" - it could have been a wonderful movie minus the last 30 minutes which were stretched too long, i liked Shah Rukh's acting and the songs are good. I am happy that the movie ran to house full shows in Mumbai, shows the true spirit of the Mumbaites against the political party threat...well done Mumbai.
Sunday:
Finally went to meet my friend and Tana's classmate's mom and got the self grooming done which makes me happy and my face clearer :)
There was a discussion about the role play of the husband and wife and are they equal ? Good question as still they are not treated as equal and the wives are expected to work more than the husbands simply because it is a male dominating society and we have to do the household chores as it is our duty - I don't agree with this and think that husbands should also contribute equally as wives do when the wife also works and contributes to support the family. Just because they are doing all the financial investments, paying bills, managing the paper work etc does not give them exception to contribute towards the household chores - don't wives do the cooking, cleaning, taking care of the children, weekly grocery, changing the weekly bedsheets etc etc which are all work too...how does the make them any less contributor ? One can argue that these are non productive work and can be ignored or delegated, but then who will do them as these are equally important for the running of the house and the family ...isn't ? The argument can be extended further but i see no point in arguing if the other side is not willing to listen ! So one has to think of other ways to convey the point.
I was upset yesterday for no reason and did not quite feel like writing the blog and hence missed it . Belated Happy Valentine's day to all.
